Biography

Dr. Mehdi Shahriyari Afshar is a highly experienced Senior Interventional Cardiologist with over 20 years of clinical expertise and more than 15 years of practice in leading UAE hospitals. He is a former Head of Department and Cath Lab Director, with extensive experience in primary PCI, elective and complex coronary interventions, and advanced intracoronary imaging techniques including IVUS and FFR-guided PCI.

Dr. Afshar is recognized for delivering safe, guideline-directed cardiovascular care while maintaining strong procedural volumes in private hospital settings. His expertise includes STEMI pathways, CCU management, emergency cardiology, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

He is DHA-licensed, a Canadian citizen, and a UAE Golden Visa holder, immediately available for practice in the UAE.
