Dr. Abner brings a wealth of 23 years of invaluable healthcare experience, specializing in General Internal Medicine and holding board-certified specialist credentials from the Philippines. Dr. Abner’s professional journey began with the attainment of a BSc. in Medical Technology in 1995, followed by the prestigious MD, Doctor of Medicine degree in 1999 from the esteemed Far Eastern University-Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation in Manila, Philippines.
Having successfully navigated the rigorous national board examination for physicians, Dr. Abner dedicated several years to serving as a General Practitioner in both private and public healthcare institutions. During this time, there was a passionate advocacy for enhanced and equitable healthcare, particularly in underserved rural and urban-poor communities, where access to basic health services posed considerable challenges.
Following three years of impactful community service, Dr. Abner pursued rigorous residency training in Internal Medicine at the esteemed East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines, spanning from 2003 to 2005. This pivotal period of specialized training culminated in the successful completion of board examinations in Internal Medicine.
With a solid foundation in Internal Medicine, Dr. Abner further honed skills and expanded horizons by undertaking roles in diverse medical settings overseas. This included adept management of outpatient clinics, inpatient care, as well as critical care units and Accident & Emergency departments.
